14 Dec Vote for the Grey Party
By Dan Hammond, Chief Disruption Officer, LIW
The UK general election campaign that mercifully ended yesterday, caps off a year of divisive, black and white politics. Division seems to have built to a crescendo before the new decade arrives.
The main party positions were at extremes with many voters dissatisfied with all offerings. In the end, they had to come down on one side so there is at least a chance that we can move on.
What does this mean for leadership?
Our last bleets of 2019 look forward to a grey decade: one where we are sufficiently open and curious to see more than black and white. As leaders, we can help.
Are there groups or people that you don’t naturally align with? Connect across the divide.
Be curious, understand their position without trying to present your own.
