Stuck in reverse?

By Dan Hammond, Chief Disruption Officer, LIW

Please do me a favour and read this article before reading on.

Thank you. I hope you found that interesting and topical. As the sidebar says, in times of ‘wrenching change’ you need new ideas in the workplace.

Actually, the article was written in 1992.

What does this mean for leadership?

These are not the words of a futurist genius but of a student in his late twenties who genuinely – but now clearly naively – thought he was writing about the working life ahead of him.

While it seemed obvious at the time that business would do more to protect the planet and nurture communities, they have actually continued to pursue profit at the expense of these things.

We must learn that we are not good at change. It’s up to us to turn things around.
