Pushing it

By Pia Lee, CEO, LIW

Every morning for the last two weeks, I have descended to my ‘garage-gym’ and pushed my body to meet the challenge before me. It’s been a valuable physical and psychological journey. The Push Up Challenge raises awareness of the 3,046 suicides in Australia in 2018. A national calling to remind us of connection and comradery, particularly during this difficult period of isolation.

What does this mean for leadership?

I may have achieved the targets on my own, but it was my team member, (my much younger 19 year old nephew!) who made it so worthwhile. Sharing the pain, the jokes and the achievements is the team spirit that gets us through. It reminds us to be cognisant that no one is left behind and that in busyness we keep an eye out for each other.

Together is definitely better.
