Here’s to a grey decade

By Dan Hammond, Chief Disruption Officer, LIW

We are just four bleets away from the end of the year – and a decade.

The 2010s (they never even had a cool name!) was, according to The Guardian who devoted a magazine to it, ‘the decade that left no room for shades of grey.’

During this decade, social media became a disruptive teenager; many of our politicians deliberately promoted ‘us and them’ to serve themselves; and we have been drawn into a black and white culture.

The fact that 50 Shades of Grey was published near the start of the decade is beyond irony.

What does this mean for leadership?

In our work, families and, yes, politics we need more grey, more curiosity and more connection.

The next three bleets will explore how we can all lead that change by changing ourselves.
