Going forward

By guest contributor Dan Hammond, CPO of Squadify

Many countries in the Northern Hemisphere are emerging from lockdown – again – so we thought it would be appropriate to rerun a classic bleet from the same stage of the pandemic a year ago as we think the message is still relevant. Enjoy!

A friend of mine has to go to the office for some meetings next week. His office is over 300km away.

There’s a real danger that organisations will try to return to ‘normal’ and miss the opportunity to do things better.

What does this mean for leadership?

It’s time to pull out your trusty leadership Swiss Army knife, the 3Ws.

  • What do you want to achieve and why? Forget the past. Paint a picture of the future you want.
  • Where are you now? Do a Marie Kondo on everything you are doing (or did pre-coronatimes). Does it spark joy? Seriously, does it support you in getting to your goal?

What next? Make a plan but even more importantly, make sure that everything you do is taking you toward your chosen state, not back. Perhaps not even back to the office.
